Abigale Lee Miller (born on the 21st of September, 1965) is an American choreographer who also teaches dance and is a reality TV star. Abby Lee Dance Company is her own creation that ran for eight seasons on Dance Moms. On June 27, 2016, Miller pleaded guilty to the charge of felony bankruptcy fraud. This is a type of cancer that leaves her incapable of walking. To move around she uses a wheelchair. Miller has been a dancer since childhood in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, a Pittsburgh suburb, studying under her mother's direction at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller, then 14, was given choreography and coaching of one of her mother's dance competition teams. Miller was given the reins of the company and changed it's name to Reign Dance Productions in 1995. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America, and was a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February 2012 due to Miller's reality show Dance Moms was a "complete false representation of the teachers we have and their students" and was damaging to the profession.
